Answers to the questions students ask most — and how to reach the PCT team when you need a hand.
Create a free account from the Register page, then open any room from the Rooms page and register for it — registration is required to enter a room and start solving its challenges. Events are listed on the Events page; open one to see its timing, countdown and leaderboard.
Every challenge you solve earns the points shown on it. Room leaderboards rank players inside that room, event leaderboards rank players in that event, and the Global Leaderboard on the home page combines everything across rooms, daily challenges and events.
Some rooms award a verified certificate when you solve all of their challenges — whether a room gives a certificate is decided by the admin and shown on the room. Your certificates appear in your Dashboard, and anyone can check one on the Certificates page using its unique verification code.
Open the Login page and use the “Forgot password” option. You will receive a secure reset code/link for your account email — reset links expire after one hour and can only be used once.
Flags follow the format pct{...} unless a challenge says otherwise. Submit the complete flag, exactly as you found it, on the challenge inside its room.
The Academy offers both free and paid (Premium) courses — each course card shows its price, level, duration, instructor and full syllabus before you enroll.

Terms & Conditions
The rules for using the PCT — Cybersecurity Academy platform.
1. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. One person may hold one account; accounts created to manipulate leaderboards or farm points may be removed. You must verify your email address to use account features.
2. Acceptable Use
All labs, rooms and challenges are for legal, educational practice inside this platform only. Do not attack systems outside the PCT labs, do not share flags, answers or exploit writeups for live challenges and events, and do not attempt to disrupt the platform or other learners.
3. Events & Leaderboards
Event rules are announced on each event. Scores entered by the admin team are final once an event has ended and results are published. Cheating — including flag sharing, multiple accounts or automated solving where prohibited — can lead to score removal and disqualification.
4. Certificates
Certificates are issued automatically or by an admin when the stated requirements are met, and each carries a unique verification code that anyone can check on the Certificates page. A certificate obtained through cheating may be revoked.
5. Content
Course material, challenges and writeups on PCT belong to PAK Cyber Team or their respective authors and are provided for your personal learning. Do not redistribute paid course content.
6. Changes
We may update these terms and the platform at any time; continued use of PCT after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy Policy
What PCT collects, why, and how it is used.
1. What We Collect
When you register we collect your name, username and email address, and a securely hashed password — never your plain password. As you learn, we record your course enrollments, room registrations, challenge solves, points, badges and certificates so leaderboards and your dashboard work.
2. Email
Your email is used for account verification, password resets, and — only if you subscribe in the footer — the PCT newsletter with course, lab and CTF updates. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data runs the platform: showing your progress, ranking leaderboards, issuing and verifying certificates, and keeping accounts secure. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Public Information
Your username, points and rankings appear on public leaderboards, and issued certificates can be looked up by their verification code. Your email address is never shown publicly.
5. Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and verification and password-reset codes are single-use and expire. Keep your password unique and do not share your account.
6. Contact

Admin Panel
Full control over the whole platform. This panel is hidden from the public — it only appears for Admin accounts. Admins are assigned from the backend only (the Admins list) — registering an account never makes anyone an admin.
How the Admin Panel Works
Nobody becomes an admin by registering. An account is an Admin only when its email is on the backend Admins list — on the PHP hosting that list is ADMIN_EMAILS in config/config.php. Every other account stays a regular user, and only Admin accounts ever see this panel.
From here you can add and edit events (status is set automatically from the start/end time), enter leaderboard scores, manage rooms and their flags, publish courses with full syllabi, manage users, issue certificates and badges manually, update the team section and footer social links — and back up or restore the entire platform data from the Backup & Restore tab.

🏅 Badge Guide — how badges are earned
Badges are awarded automatically when a student hits a milestone — the admin does not have to do anything:
On top of these, the admin can award any custom badge (for example “Event Champion”) with the Award Badge form above — it appears on the student's dashboard instantly.

Backup & Restore — Your Data, Your Ownership
Download one JSON file containing everything on this platform: users, events, event scores, rooms, room registrations, room completions, courses, course enrollments, certificates, badges, team members and site settings. Keep it safe — restore it on any copy of this website (for example after moving to a new host) and the whole platform comes back exactly as it was.
1 • Download Backup
Exports all current data as a single .json file. Download a fresh copy after every event or content update.
Note: user passwords are stored as hashes and are included in the backup, so restored users can log in with their existing passwords.
2 • Restore from Backup
Upload a backup file you downloaded earlier. This replaces ALL current data — you will be asked to confirm before anything is overwritten.

Backend & Database
This page runs only in PHP backend mode: all data is saved to the MySQL database through API_BASE (https://pakcyberteam.com/api). Nothing is saved in the browser at all — login runs on a secure HttpOnly cookie set by the backend, so no token is ever stored on the device and the session works across tabs until you log out. Register/Login goes to the server — every registered user is saved in the MySQL users table and appears in phpMyAdmin. Admins are controlled from the backend: only the emails on the list in config/config.php → ADMIN_EMAILS get the admin role. If the backend is unreachable, a clear error is shown on the page — data is never saved in the browser as a fallback. The collections below are the backend database tables; from Backup & Restore the full data can be downloaded as a single JSON file.
⚡ XP Ranks
A user's total points are their XP. Set the rank names, icons and XP thresholds here — badges update everywhere (profile, dashboard and leaderboards) automatically.
🩸 First Blood & 💡 Hint Penalties
Per room: switch First Blood on/off and set the bonus points for the first solver of each challenge. Per challenge: set how many points a student loses the first time they open its hint (0 = free hint, shown openly).
📝 Write-up Approvals
Students can write a write-up only after solving a challenge. Nothing becomes public until you approve it here.
🧭 Learning Paths
Build guided roadmaps: pick rooms and courses in order, and students follow them step by step. Finishing a path earns the 🏅 Pathfinder badge.
📅 CTF Calendar
Worldwide CTF events shown on the public CTF Calendar page, each with a live countdown and a link to the event.
🏆 Weekly Tournaments
Mark any event as a Weekly Tournament. It gets a spotlight with a live countdown on the home page, and its winners are featured there once it ends.
🔔 Broadcast Notification
Send a notification to ALL registered users — it appears under the 🔔 bell in the header and in every user's Dashboard. With the hosted backend connected it is sent via POST /api/admin/notifications.
